I did a very early morning shoot with Evgeniya and the plan was to do some nude shots in public places. It seems that Kiev wakes up very early and everywhere we went there were people but Evgeniya was very brave and bared all regardless. More images on my website

She is the bravest model that I know for walking around nude in public places. Thanks for your comment.

Nah, the area near the Dnipro subway station (a big chunk of that coast of the river, really) offers enough places that aren't actively observed by the public most of the time. In the summer afternoon, anyway. (Seeing this in the middle of the Winter is . . . weird.) People who are fishing don't move a lot, and people taking a walk along the coast are few and far between.

thanks Molokh-Uziel for describing the area around the scene. There are photos that peak the viewer's interest and ask questions: where are they? what is it like there? are the colors always so vivid? I think that's what makes certain artworks more attractive. The viewer fills in the story around the scene wondering what the artist was thinking? what was the model thinking? This scene is a great photo! would it make a good painting? kind regards

Now that you mention it I think of it, it *seems* closer to Contract station than to Dnipro station. With the semi-floating café, the shaky bridge and the tram rails somewhere nearby? Those probably indeed are more populated.

Or am I critically failing my Area Knowledge roll again?

Thanks for your insight ... on the two occasions that I went there the quay was full of fishermen and although they don't move a lot they were still there! I will try and post more seasonal images for you. Thanks for commenting.

Eh, I'm not ranting. :) I'm totally okay with off-season images.

What I meant about fishermen is that finding a relatively empty place along that coast didn't seem like a challenge - just a matter of walking further from the station. Don't know, maybe passers-by are more of an issue if they can see you setting up a tripod from afar.

It's actually the hygiene that seems like the largest worry to me. Then again, you likely already saw all the issue with trash etc. there.
